Homespun & Fiber
There are many businesses and individuals in and around Brandon working and creating with fibers: wool, fabrics, and wood.
These lost arts are alive and thriving in fascinating and fashionable ways. Explore the many and varied fiber artisans of Brandon working with wools, alpaca, and other animal fibers; with woods and plants; and with cotton textiles to create homespun wearables, furniture, and fine art. You can visit the farms where fiber animals are raised, tour a mill that processes fiber, shop for supplies, and meet the people who are creating both one-of-a-kind works of art and goods that travel the world.
Statewide info: Twist of Wool Guild
The Twist O' Wool Guild is a supportive group of people in Vermont who enjoy fiber-related activities, meet to exchange ideas, make social contacts, increase their fiber skills and widen their horizons through programs, workshops, field trips, and study groups. The group meets monthly from September through June. They demonstrate their skills every August at the Addison County Fair and Field Days. To learn more click here.
