Brandon is a perfect place to raise a family, retire, start a business, relocate a business, or enjoy any stage of life. Brandon's central location makes it easy to get to from any direction. We are at the crossroads of Routes 7 and 73, half-way between Rutland and Middlebury. We are located at the north central border of Rutland County. Rutland City, our county seat, sits to the south and Middlebury, shire town of Addison County, sits to the north. Our population hovers around 4,000 residents spread out over 75 miles of roads.

If you are thinking of starting or relocating a business here, our offerings include an industrial park providing manufacturing space, Park Village providing mixed use, main street storefronts and a number of single-person small offices. Brandon has opportunities for developers and small business people as well as a thriving artist community. The town of Brandon has been identified as having the best water in the state.

Airport Service is out of Burlington International Airport, 60 miles north. There is also service from Rutland-Southern Vermont Regional Airport which connects to Boston. Amtrak train service from New York City via the Ethan Allen Express into Rutland is an excellent method of transportation into the area.

Schools

Rutland Northeast Supervisory Union is a PreK-12 public school system serving the communities of Brandon, Chittenden, Goshen, Leicester, Mendon, Pittsford, Sudbury and Whiting. Residents of Brandon and Goshen in grades PreK-6 attend Neshobe Elementary School. Residents of Brandon, Goshen, Leicester, Pittsford, Sudbury and Whiting in grades 7-12 attend Otter Valley Union High School. Alternative high school programs offered include The Moosalamoo Center, an ecological course offering with curriculum motivated by the natural world and the local community, and the Stafford Technical Center in Rutland and the Hannaford Career Center in Middlebury.
