Brandon’s Creative Economy is red hot! With so many artists, there are many studios and galleries open to the public.
More than 50 of the area’s talented artists exhibit and sell their works at the Brandon Artists Guild (affectionately called the BAG). Brandon has been called “the art and soul of Vermont” because of the work of these dynamic, vibrant, and varied artists belonging to the BAG. The exhibit space is open to the public 7 days a week throughout the entire year. No tour of Vermont’s galleries is complete without a visit to this very special community of artists whose reputations extend far beyond the borders of Vermont. Brandon’s most famous artist, Warren Kimble has his own Gallery at 10 Park Street in downtown Brandon. Besides original works, Warren also sells his signed prints there. Open by chance or appointment.
The Judith Reilly Gallery, featuring Judith’s fabric art, is open on Friday and Saturday afternoons at 24 Conant Square. Artisans at the Bend is located “at the bend” on Route 7 near the edge of the village. The barn is a studio/gallery for creating contemporary folk art paintings and sculpture. Owner/artists Robin Rodda Kent and Jim Barner’s works have been purchased by the American Folk Art Museum in New York City and carried by prominent galleries nationwide. Surrounded by gracious countryside just outside of Brandon’s artistic downtown lies Brandon Music – Vermont’s classical music haven. Situated a the junction of Rte 73 East and Country Club Road, opposite the golf course, Brandon Music is the North American headquarters the international classical music record company, Divine Art Recordings Group. Located in a beautiful historic red barn, Brandon Music hosts the Divine Art CD Store with over 500 unique and fascinating classical and jazz titles, The Music Café serving lunches and afternoon teas, a Vermont art gallery, the bagatelles gift shop, and an exhibit of vintage phonographs. Brandon’s Gallery-in-the-Field is a gallery whose mission is to present the art of provocative, innovative living artists, and to provide a forum for the sharing of issues and questions raised in the context of the art. They are a venue for teaching and learning, one where people leave inspired to experiment and create. Along with visual art, they sponsor a number of performance events such as music, poetry and prose readings, installations and improvisations. Click here for their current calendar of events.
