Brandon was hard hit by Tropical Storm Irene on Aug. 28, 2011. Immediately following the storm, the Brandon Area Chamber of Commerce established the Brand-Aid Fund to give friends, former residents, family members, and people all over the world with a little piece of Brandon in their heart, a way to help out the hard-hit members of our business community. By the close of 2011, more than $27,000 was donated and distributed.

Unfortunately, there is still a need. One-year later loan payments are coming due, work continues on a number of properties, and others are struggling with still paying off some of those unanticipated expenses. We expect at least five businesses will apply for Brand-Aid funding at the current time. Every single one of these businesses are building owners, employers, and taxpayers. And they are still hurting.

Every penny donated will be disbursed. Immediately, donations may be made by credit card via PayPal. You do not have to be a PayPal member to donate this way.

DONATE BY SENDING A CHECK: Please make checks payable to Brandon Area Chamber of Commerce and mail to: Heritage Family Credit Union, 2 West Seminary St., Brandon VT 05733 Attn: Wendy Bizzarro.

Donations are not tax-deductible. The Brandon Area Chamber of Commerce is a 501C6 non-profit organization, not a 501C3. Business owners can check with their tax advisor regarding the donation being a business expense. We do not spend any money, ever, on lobbying.
